Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after that period of that year.

Victory also indicates he has secured 21 victories at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a title is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an better serve.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.

He defended four early-game opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
